Telcordia® SS7 Signaling Analysis

Overview of Services

Telcordia offers a wide range of services to assist telecommunications suppliers with SS7 product testing and verification:

  • Requirements Interpretation/Consulting
    Ad-hoc consulting to assist the supplier in understanding how SS7 protocols, products, capabilities, etc., are intended to operate.
  • Design Analysis
    Analysis of the supplier's design documentation, prior to software/hardware development, to determine whether the product/capability design will meet the relevant specifications, industry standards, and/or Telcordia generic requirements.
  • Test Plan Consulting
    Support for the supplier's development of test strategies, test plans/cases, test methodologies, and/or test capabilities.
  • Conformance Testing and Analysis
    Comprehensive testing and analysis of the supplier's product or capability for compliance to relevant specifications, industry standards, and/or Telcordia generic requirements.
  • Interconnection Testing
    Testing focused on the compatibility of SS7 networks during interconnection. For example, the Network Interconnection Interoperability Forum (NIIF) recommends a minimum set of tests that should be executed before interconnecting SS7 networks.
  • Product-to-Product Interoperability Testing and Analysis
    Pairwise testing and analysis of the supplier's product or capability with another SS7 network element to determine whether the implementations interwork properly.
  • Operations System-to-Network Element Testing and Analysis
    Testing and analysis of the interactions between SS7 network elements and the operations systems that are used to support those network elements. For example, Telcordia® Signaling Network Activation Manager and Telcordia® Network Performance Monitor are operations systems that are used, respectively, to provision and collect measurements from SS7 network elements such as STPs.
  • End-to-End Network Interoperability Testing and Analysis
    Testing and analysis of the supplier's product or capability in a lab environment that emulates a service provider's network, to investigate potential end-to-end service issues such as functionality and performance.
  • Integrated Testing and Analysis
    Working closely with the supplier to integrate the Telcordia testing and analysis services into the supplier's own testing process.
