Telcordia will work with each Supplier and assemble a customized program based on its business strategy. A typical program may have the following elements:

  • NEBS and Reliability training can be provided to equipment designer prior to product development
  • Verification of design can be performed by Telcordia prior to prototype creation
  • High risk NEBS test areas can be performed early at the prototype stage
  • Manufacturing can be analyzed for reliability and quality to ensure the product is built right and in a consistent manner
  • Final testing and Reliability analysis can be performed on the final design
  • NEBS Level 3 Certification and Reliability Analysis can be publicized by the Supplier

Example: A Supplier decides to outsource all NEBS and Reliability Analysis services to save costs. Telcordia will be the Supplier's resource for these services for both internal and external customers. Telcordia has an extensive NEBS test facility, with a staff of experienced professionals. Thus the Supplier can have the benefits of in-house testing organization, without its associated fixed costs. If test resources are in place at the Supplier, Telcordia can hire the Supplier resources dedicated to NEBS type testing, integrate those resources into Telcordia and manage the resources going forward. The Supplier commits to having Telcordia perform all NEBS testing for its internal and external purposes and pricing is managed to eliminate fixed costs to the Supplier. In exchange for a Telcordia commitment to perform the testing on a long-term basis and for preferential pricing, the Supplier commits to a minimum amount of revenues to be provided to Telcordia on an annual basis.
