Telcordia Engineer Named TM Forum Distinguished Fellow

NICE, France - May 22, 2007 - Telcordia (www.telcordia.com) today announces that Stephen Fratini, Senior Engineer, Telcordia, has been named a TeleManagement Forum (TM Forum) Distinguished Fellow at a prestigious awards ceremony at this year's TeleManagement World event in Nice, France. Fratini is the second honoree from Telcordia, following Robbie Cohen, who received the honor in 2003.

Fratini, who also serves as the TM Forum mTOP director, joins an exclusive group of just 13 executives ever to be honored with the award. Recipients of the award are individuals who are deemed to have made a valuable contribution to the TM Forum and to the global communications industry. Previous award winners include: Dr. Makoto Yoshida (Professor of Tokyo University and former NTT board member), David Milham (OSS Strategies, BT) and Enrico Ronco (Project Manager at Telecom Italia Lab).

Fratini was singled out with specific praise concerning his development work on TM Forum standards within the Multi Technology OSS Program (mTOP), which drives the capability of operators to implement NGOSS solutions. The mTOP program has created MTOSI (Multi-Technology Operations Systems Interface), the industry standard interface designed to facilitate interoperation between OSS.

"I am honored to be recognised for the sustained, innovative work that Telcordia has performed on initiating and supporting TM Forum initiatives," said Fratini. "I look forward to working closely with the TM Forum as Telcordia continues guiding the development and implementation of solutions that provide greater efficiencies for operator networks and services."

The award, which was presented on Monday, May 21, 2007 at TeleManagement World in Nice, France, is given to those who have a proven track record of achievements and accomplishments, a sustained record of service to the industry and to the TM Forum and helped to materially advanced the OSS/BSS industry
